In the Spring of 2022, I walked in the door from a long day of work and checked my Facebook page. When I did there was a cute, red headed girl on my page that said, “Hey.” I said hmmm, that is a definite maybe. So, I grabbed a bite to eat and then responded. After a few back-and-forth messages and a phone call later, we decided to meet for dinner.

When we met for dinner, I immediately realized that this girl was something special. She was very chatty, super cute, I loved her green eyes, red hair, and Southern accent. I mean who could not love a girl that says Strawbreeze (strawberries)! She was a person of faith and checked all the boxes that I was looking for. At the end of the date, I asked her if I could kiss her, she said yes, and that was all she wrote.

Later I met her two dogs, Bill and Shasha, and after several more dates we decided that we were getting married. There were a few hurdles that we needed to get through, like CDL school, moving to Connecticut, and the actual wedding planning. During the time spent navigating these events, it has become clear that Kristel is the woman I want to be with forever. She makes me better and is my best friend.

Our story is one for the books. Matt and I met much later in life, after having lived a life with difficulties. The one thing that we both agree on, is that God played a huge part in the timing of our meeting each other. We both had to come full circle on many things in our lives.

To say that Matt walked into my life very unexpectedly is an understatement, yet his entrance was perfectly timed. He is truly the love of my life and so easy to love. Such a great man, wanting the best for both of us as a team. Yes, our journey has had obstacles, but we always listened to each other's needs. As we keep God first, up front and center, those tough times turn into accomplishments.

We have moved across the country with family in mind. Our personal goals have become team goals. Best friends for sure. We have moved to Bristol, Connecticut. Matt is working for TMC, and I am with Pro Health Physicians. Living our best life. Team Diesel forever!
